We were so bummed when we found out Landon wasn’t going to be coming home for Christmas due to his rotating shiftwork schedule, but with only a few days left he was somehow able to swing some sweet deals and get his shift covered! Talk about a Christmas miracle!! He bought a last minute plane ticket and flew in the night before Christmas Eve. Everyone knew that I would be coming, but we thought it would be so fun to surprise both of our families with Landon’s appearance. Well, apparently I can keep a pretty good secret because they were all completely baffled and confused when I showed up with him after having lunch with my sweet friend, Sydney! haha
It felt so good to spend some time back at home, catching up and meeting our most adorable little nephew Kroix for the first time! And my wish for a white Christmas totally came true! (can’t believe I forgot to get a single picture of the snow!!) I was so sick and hardly had a voice the entire week, but we still made the most of the few days we had. After our morning church service, we all got back into our pajamas and kept plenty cozy, chowing down on my mom’s famous cinnamon rolls and opening gifts from each other. Later that afternoon, Landon and I took a drive to Idaho to surprise his family. They were waiting for us to both get on skype (we were late and had to keep rejecting their calls haha..) when we suddenly walked in the front door! I think it took them a few seconds to even realize who we were hahaha!
We are certainly counting ourselves lucky to be moving back to the west coast (Seattle!!) this summer so we can be even just a tiny bit closer to home. And having Landon there with me to share our exciting news made our entire trip all that much better! It will definitely be a Christmas to remember!
