UTAH TO SOUTH CAROLINA
5/15/2016
For over two years we knew that a few months following graduation, we would be moving to South Carolina. It was such a bittersweet feeling -- both of us had been born and raised in Utah and my little photography business was just beginning to take off, but we were also excited for a change and felt so grateful for the opportunity this was to experience a whole new part of the country. So with our moving truck filled to the brim, a big bag of snacks, and a brand new puppy in arms, we set out on our 2300-mile journey across the country. Landon was determined to get there as quickly as possible (of course) so... over the next 33 hours we took turns driving and napping, stopping only for ice cream and gas -- and many puppy potty breaks haha! We read books and had plenty of time to chat about life -- our conversations somehow always lead to future life discussions. We love setting goals and making plans, even if they don't always work out as expected. I love that we both have a constant drive for growth and improvement, but can also find joy in the here and now. I remember watching the sun rise slowly over the horizon as I was driving through Tennessee. Landon and Libby were both sound asleep, and despite the handful of unknowns that were lying ahead, I felt completely calm and content with life. It's those quiet little moments that help me to really recognize what is important in this life. We were safe, happy, and healthy and right then there was nothing more I could possibly want.
